Hi
Am new to the noticeboard. Been a fan since Falaa days, but am also in the Mish, which some people find an issue
but hey I live in Portsmouth and dont have a problem with Southampton so there is hope. Anyway the question.
With the re-release of Falaa etc (which are excellent, great to have the vinyl master) What the hell is that godawful guitar solo, whining etc in the SKOS demo????
Asked Wayne and his reply was "Indeed, SKOS was one of Gary Marx's tunes. I can't remember the demo at all so can't help you there I'm afraid......I did play on the studio version but what exactly I can't recall......Soz."
Anyone else got any idea ?

Hello and welcome
I think we had a thread about it before (somewhere -- buggered if I can find it) and it's called a "crying guitar" or something?

Was it not the final death throes of Spiggy after a disagreement with a car on Burley Road?

You're a bad, bad person...
Anyway: I find that demo version beyond good and evil.
And not only for the guitar, but also for the voice. And the lyrics. And about everything else....

Meant 'in to the mish' rather than actually pretending to be in the band

I know the odd sound you mean though - on the first listen your ears kinda do a double take and wonder if you're hearing right.
It's like Kevin Shields had mixed them in the background

Ouch. That reminds me of a supposedly true story I heard. This kid is asked be his minister to shoo these cats that were using this area of the church as a mating ground. He goes into the room and starts waving a broom around and gets a reaction he didn’t expect. The cats jump on him and start clawing at his flesh. He’s rolling around on the grounding, pulling cats off and throwing them out the room. After getting all the cats off, he goes outside onto the balcony where he had thrown them and looks around, but can’t see the cats anywhere. Then it suddenly dawns on him what he has done, he looks over the balcony and sees a mound of dead cats.
