Seriously. Back in the day, Kerry (mrs fiend) saw Carter where there were 5 people and one dog in the audience.

I went to see them a couple of times a back when, they played "Sheriff Fatman" Twice one night

Well, we have 7 months to see if they split up before the gig then.. 
Or are they putting the tickets on sale now to review the sales in 4 or 5 months time to decide whether or not to can the gig?

If they promise to give Philip Schofield a good kicking again on-stage, I may consider it. Other than, this screams of some one's mortgage being over due and having to remind people what a one trick pony this band were.
Doesn't it make you shudder with embarrassment when some 1980's / 90's throw backs have to resort to such tactics to remind people that they indeed did have their fifteen minutes of fame and that obligatory TOTP appearance. And that since then, they've vanished into some sort of musical obscurity to only appear now and then on TOTP2 with Steve Wright asking 'I wonder ,just what did actual happen to *insert shameful name here* after this appearance" ?

Oh, maybe I'm just a sad old romantic who prefers to remember bands how they were and not as some sad middle aged balding people who look more like your dad at some office fancy dress party than the 'rock gods' you once worshiped many moons ago..

Personally, I'd take some reheated golden oldies over most of the toss thats around at the moment

They have already played a reformed gig this year March 4th Islington Academy.

I was at the gig on the 4th March, I'm no fan of Carter, but it was a show arranged in tribute to Wiz of Mega City 4 who died just before Xmas. A number of bands who played with the MC4 back in the day got together to play 4 songs each. Best of all saw the Senseless Things back together, but you also got Midway Still, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Andy Cairns from Therapy, and John Kastner from the Doughboys. Heaven if you were into the early 90s indie scene. It really was one of the most memorable shows I've ever seen.
Anyways, that show was billed as a one off reformation by Carter, but you got the feeling that it wouldn't turn out that way. Think its hard for the guys involved to go back to playing to miniscule audiences in their respective solo bands, knowing that they could play to literally thousands more by teaming up again. They probably are doing it for the money, but I bet you they'll put on a vintage performance, and lets face it, they never had a glorious image that they can tarnish by doing this gig!!!!

I too was at the Four 4 Wiz gig, knew Wiz and the band very well, Alan Mchee used the phrase doing it for the kids on one of his compilations so CUSM should name their comeback gig as "Doing it for their Pension" I can take or leave them they were well received at Islington probably the biggest draw of the day.
If you want another memorable day then there is the forthcoming Forward for Wiz gig at Aldershot 24th April with Very Special Guests!? who will that be I wonder!

Carter? Senseless Things? Another MC4 show? Snuff?
Used to go out with a girl from Farnham, saw some good gigs at the West End Centre, but best of all was when Leatherface played the Farnham Maltings. My favourite band in the whole world playing 5 mins walk from the girlfriend's house, and the set list still consisting of most of the tunes from Mush (probably my favourite album ever released).

Damn right. And we're all going to be middle aged balding people one day anyway.
Personally, I'd rather see living proof that it's possible to grow old disgracefully, and still be able to kick some butt as a MABP, than see those who once spouted flames of anarchy and rebellion settle into a humdrum MABP life.

As Wiz's girlfriend Karina is organising the gig i'd say the Megas will play but i have no idea who will sing it may well be Spider again maybe somebody else. Several good bands on the bill anyway and at a very nice price as well £5.

Mark Keds was billed to appear at the Wiz tribute gig, but come the night the whole band (less Morgan, who I think is touring on bass for The Streets) did a short, but brilliant set. The set list was Homophobic Asshole, then Laura Lamorna combined with 2 others from the Postcard CV album, all played lightning fast and blurred into one, followed by Hold it Down & a brilliant Too Much Kissing to finish. Mark looked in great health, which was good to see, as I've seen some nasty stuff written about him in the last couple of years, he is booked to play a gig on 21/4/07, try www.senselessthings.com for more info & a ton of MP3s (I've only just found this myself, its gonna keep me busy for a while!!).

Gig sounds good, but I'm gonna be at the ATP thingy down in Somerset, otherwise I'd have been there. Thought Spider did a great job at Islington, such a pity it took such a sad event for it to come about.
