Eldritch's Scepter

In the videos of Lucretia My Reflection, Dominion, and This Corrosion, Eldritch is seen carrying some kind of stick, a metal stave with two cloth grips on both ends. Does anyone have any idea what this thing is and why he is carrying it, and whether anything is known about it outside these clips?

Wasn't it his affectation, a kind of totemistic thing? Certainly in the topsy turvy world of rock and roll, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is quite often useful.

Isn't it a sword-stick?

Amazing what gets dredged up from the recesses of memory! On seeing the Dominion video, complete with shades and stick, not to mention fairly clumsy movements, I somehow got the idea that Von was blind.

It's obviously a swordstick. Something that would tickle Von's fancy no end.

You can see him drawing the sword from it in the second chorus.

Lucretia and This Corrosion it was Stanley the Stick - the metal pole thingy.
Dominion was the Swordstick.

I believe that Bux had something to say about the stick getting lost somewhere way back in the early days of HL.

The swordstick was a hired prop* for the video, thus it was never given a name.

*If only he'd done the same with Mr Huss :innocent:
