Oh, go on then.
Here you go Marco.
Temple Of Love (original 12")
Just swept me off my feet & threw me around when I first heard it. Still does that.

Ever Fallen In Love (Buzzcocks)
Beats getting all depressed & sticking on The Wall when you've been dumped.

Arriving Somewhere, But Not Here (Porcupine Tree)
It's got everything a song should have

A Forest (The Cure)
Evergreen (excuse the pun) & always different live & the xfm broadcast gig from 92 is a cracker.

Comfortably Numb live on pulse (Pink Floyd)
Guitar solo to die for

Body Electric (1984 version)
In ya face a just right!

Faith (The Cure)
Epic & some of the 1989 live versions are incredible

It's on The Rocks (The Donnas)
Kick @ss rock & Roll

Song To The Siren (This Mortal Coil)
Makes every hair on my body stand on end

Hanging On the Telephone (Blondie)
Never get bored of this song.

There are hundreds more I could add, but this would be my list today.

On the contrary, I have way too many and most of the time I can't put the effect they have on me into words.
How the hell do I chose between Nine while nine and Body electric ? Between Faith and Disintegration ? Between Comfortably numb and Wish you were here ? Between Running up that hill and Hello earth ? I can't and I don't want to.
I know it's commonplace, but music should be experienced, not explained. 8)

Only 10 songs? Can't do that. It would contain most of the Sisters' songs and lots of songs by other bands. Lots of songs are sticked to memories (good and sad ones) and lots of songs are just very nice to listen to, like making me happy. It depends a lot on the emotional state I am in.

I certainly would mention Simple Minds - Someone, Somewhere in Summertime because it always has been one of my favorite 80's songs. For me it is about a true and very close friendship.

I would mention the Massey Hall concert in 1971 by Neil Young. The entire album as it is a peace of art.

I also would certainly mention lots of Cure and Placebo songs like Lullaby and Without You I'm Nothing by Placebo and David Bowie.

8)

Ehrm... let's see, I was into pop before I learned of TSOM so my list won't be very impressive, neither do I have serious reasons for it. Do don't say anything stupid if you think my pre-TSOM taste was ridiculous.

Depeche Mode- Enjoy the Silence(tv edit)
Very impressive. I loved it.

The Sisters of Mercy- Temple of Love (1992)
First TSOM song I ever heard, still my nr 1 evar ;D

The Sisters of Mercy- Flood II
So much energy, very good.

Lucie Silvas- Nothing Else Matters
:| be careful here, I heard this one earlier than Metallica's and I still like
this one much better. I won't give in to people saying this sucks.

Nena and Kim Wilde- Anyplace Anytime Anywhere
NOT A WORD! It rocks.

The Sisters of Mercy- Driven Like the Snow
Beauty incarnate. Amazing how a calm song can be so good.

Out of Touch- Hall and Oates
:)

The Sisters of Mercy- Dominion
Best lyrics IMO and very very nice sax solo.

Ernesto and Bastian- Dark Side of the Moon
Very heavy song, love the rhiff.

The Sisters of Mercy- Lucretia My Reflection
Ah those guitars :D coolest TSOM song IMO

No, because there are far, far too many to list here, and the reasons why many of them are my favorites are no one else's business. :von:

No reason to be embarrassed. But Kim Wilde has done much better IMHO. 8)

Don't know if I can pick just 10, but here's an attempt.

Hawkwind - Assault and Battery/The Golden Void
Scoff ye not! As many here can and will attest, ver 'Wind are a whole heap more than just Silver Machine, and for me these 2 give me the rush, the roar and the pulsating good vibe, then expand and explode into a riot of colour for the senses. But should it count as one or two tracks? I dunno.

VDGG - A Plague Of Lighthouse Keepers
Staying on the prog vibe, this is utterly astonishing stuff. Experimental and audacious.

Spacemen 3 - Transparent Radiation/Ecstasy Symphony/Transparent Radiation (Flashback)
For blissful drifting away.

Echo And The Bunnymen - Ocean Rain
Just beautiful.

Sisters - Dominion/Mother Russia
The song where it finally clicked for me - deserves a mention.

UK Decay - Testament
Standing tall in the face of whatever crap the world throws at you, The Lion Roars!

Adam And The Ants - Stand And Deliver
Forget the artier early stuff, this is real Ant music.

New Order - Ceremony
A song of hope and defiance.

Skinny Puppy - Worlock
Beautiful song, for various different reasons not necessarily related to conventional beauty.

Opal - Northern Line
Pretty much all of the Early Recordings LP is wonderful, but I'm picking this. I just like it, no particular reason.

Loop - Burning World
Could have been quite a few others, but this gets it for the feeling of being lost in space.

Killing Joke - A Southern Sky
Another where the overall effect of the LP is more important than individual songs. Picked this for the nice fade out.

Is that 10?

Placebo - Bitter End
Stanglers - Golden Brown
FOTN - Psychonaut
Pet Shop Boys - Being Boring
Macc Lads - God's Gift to Women
Inspiral Carpets - Sun don't shine
Manics - Sleepflower

2 ... Sugar ---- Gift (real rock music played properly)
3 ... The King ---- Song to the Siren (best version ever, Elvis would have done it this way.)
4 ... The Psychedelic Furs ---- All of this and Nothing (hits the spot, always)
5 ... Python Lee Jackson ---- In a Broken Dream (Great to sing along to)
6 ... Pink Floyd ---- Shine on you Crazy Diamond (no idea)
7 ... AC/DC ---- Back in Black (Air guitar time)
8 ... Cocteau Twins ----- Blue Bell Knoll ( a beautiful piece of music)
