Leeds Trip

Me and my mate are planning a trip to Leeds this summer (either late July or late August).

We'll be travelling via Megabus which stops at Wellington Street but we need a place to stay.
We've never been before so it would be better if we booked a place to stay which was easy to find and not far from the centre.
Can anyone recommend a B&B or is it better to stay at a Travel Lodge? we need something cheap and cheerful and near the city centre. Also, is Wellington Street near the city centre?

Wellington Street is on the south-western edge of the city centre. clicky

Edit: I don't really know about hotels etc. in Leeds; living there I don't have much need to stay there (if you see what I mean)

Etap is the one you want Lord Zombie. I'm sure you can find the relevant website/details etc. Dirt cheap, central, sorted.

You up for the HL do in early Aug? Kill two birds with one stone mate. 8)

Cheap accommodation ain't easy to find in Leeds but you should be able to get a single room for around £30 in any of the small hotels in Woodsley Road (just 10-15 minutes walk from the town centre):

Moorlea Hotel, 146 Woodsley Road, Leeds LS2 9LZ.
Tel: 0113-243-2653

Manxdene Hotel, 154 Woodsley Road, Leeds LS2 9LZ.
Tel: 0113-243-2586

Glengarth Hotel, 162 Woodsley Road, Leeds LS2 9LZ.
Tel: 0113-245-7940

Avalon Guest House, 132 Woodsley Road, Leeds LS2 9LZ.
Tel: 0113-243-2545

Somebody recently mentioned something about £15 rooms in the Travel Lodge at Vicar Lane. Might be worth a look.

Well Briggate is probably classed as 'The City Centre' and Vicar Lane runs parallel to Briggate, so 1-2 minutes walk away.
The Hugo Boss shop on Vicar Lane used to be legendary Leeds venue 'The Duchess'. The girls never played there but many other great bands did. It should really have a blue plaque outside. :notworthy:

Damn bloody right!!! Saw PJ Harvey, Ian McNabb, loads of shyte metal bands, AND Dumpys Rusty Nuts and The Batfish Boys there, more times than I care to remember. Wicked pub/venue, alas all good things come to pass...

Be careful young Robert. I warn you now there are bad pints in them there hills and dales of Yorkshire. Stick to soft drinks and avoid smoking anything that smells funny or any little pills that promise enlightenment. :?

^^ Will do! :D

A while ago there was a thread which was about a "Sisters Tour" of Leeds with places to go where the Sisters had performed/been/etc. I've had a look round but haven't been able to find anything. Does anyone know of it's whereabouts?
