Last record you bought...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Have we lost the old "Last Record (or Album / CD / whatever) You Bought (or Were Given / Stole / Whatever)" thread?

Anyway, this lot arrived today from Big Trev at Nightbreed:

Father Smiscandlon brownie points go to anyone with anything nice to say about either of these bands.

They were on sale and I was drunk when I ordered them.

Ummmm....

The first one is also the name of a rather fine Christian Death LP.

Does that count? ;D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

This one does contain a rather fun cover version of Anarchy In The UK. Get pissed, destroy ... indeed.

And the Intra-Venus CD itself is a striking black-on-black affair that I'm sure would please Goff Christmas Caird Supremo James Blast. ;D

There's a lot of it about. Almost enough to warrant a thread in its own right, if we were sad enough to indulge.

Last record you bought... ?

Hell, I'm a DJ, I never buy my own cds anymore.

I did receive that Catastrophe Ballet Cd last year from the people that run the Church Of Nightbreed website, but I assumed it was a joke band/Cd!

Actually, the only bands Cds I purchase these days are Garden of Delight releases.

Surely one of if not the best new record I've heard this year so far! And if I hadn't heard it the sticker on the front would've made me want to listen to it

"A later day Hawkwind with pseudo Johnny Lydon vocal circa 1980"
"Epic new wave Kraut coming to a disco near you soon"

Also came with a remix cd which includes remixes by Secret Machines amongst others!
…

On proper vinyl, and access to digital version of the album. Now that's how you keep your costumers happy :notworthy: Very good as well, obviously :D

Top choices Zeno :notworthy: 8) :notworthy:

Yesterday I received a small Nephilim collection I bought a while ago for very little dineros.
The Nephilim on vinyl, the one album I didn't have in that format and 5 twelves:
Blue Water (with poster!), Moonchild (the 2 different version, both first editions with embossed sleeve),
Psychonaut and For Her Light. Only the last 2 were already in my collection, but this FHL is in better condition.
And it's great music too 8)

And boy those remixes are groovy :notworthy: Especially the Secret Machines reconstruction is ultra krauty, which is great :notworthy:

Latest acquired records, yesterday in Ghent, all rather cheaply:

Image

Classic. Great. Superb. And dirt cheap :D

Image

Another cheapo classic!

Image

Why not add another one :D

Image

Still need to hear more of his solo stuff, as I love car and melt so as it was cheap I got it. Though I really dislike Sledgehammer,

Needed to save some money for drink and food so stopped browsing after these

Is Von Sudenfed any good? I've been a fan of the Fall for years, but haven't heard much of Mark E Smith's work with other bands.

I, on the other hand haven't heard much of the Fall  It's really quite good, though not each track is equally superb. Some real amazing tracks are to be found on the record tho'!
