Allways wanted to know what exactly A. is singing? Well, if you're Dutch speaking you can now find out:

btw: if you're not Dutch speaking: this is your chance to learn!

Oh hell, if you can't understand what Andy is singing how can you read this site then ? :urff: ?

And although I'm Dutch I'm not gonna read that site; I couldn't bear to see such a desecration of the Sisters' lyrics ;D

I find it sad to see Von's superb lyrics literally translated by some goff teenagers. :|

Surely one can make a more poetic translation, instead of Babelfishing the whole text?

Could have been a nice find, but turns out to be cold and clinical.

Next up: 'Jij zou de ene kunnen zijn', 'Amfetamine-Logica', 'Brand', 'Lichten', 'Huis van de Sla-Mannen', 'Ontstekings-laan' and 'Horloge'? :urff:

As a Wise Man once said: 'Nature Should Not Be Tampered With'...

I used to translate the lyrics into German when I got bored in lessons.. I seem to recall back then my conjugation was appalling.. maybe I'd make a better job of Body And Soul and Something Fast nowadays..

I still think it´s kind of cute, I don´t speak dutch so I don´t know how good the translation is, but I always like how some words are almost the same in different languages.
example:
shine like thunder ( :von:)
schijn als de donder (dutch translation)
scheine wie der Donner (german)

And for the ones that don´t speak english it´s nice if the songs are translated so that they understand their meaning better.

I liked this part of TOL:

In de zwarte lucht klinkt de donder
Ondergronds en over het water
Geluiden van huilend gedweep zullen niet redden
Je geloof in stenen en en dromen over mortel
Al je gebeden moeten als niets schijnen
96 onder de golf
Wanneer de steen stof is en alleen lucht overblijft

All Dutch and Flemish chaps learn English in school. All the movies and series they see are in the original language [mostly English] with subtitles, and there's MTV, BBC, Nat. Geogr. etc etc on the tube.
Most kids already know English by the time they get their first official school lesson.

Therefore, it'd make sense to put energy in the translation of Chinese, Polish or Kitiwalist lyrics. But why would one bother to translate English to Flemish/Dutch ???

Whatever they want to do -- I have no problem -- they should just do it. But imho it's fairly belachelijk.

James, get your 'speak English or die' picture out please!

Point made. What's the use of a literal translation with Sisters lyrics? :|

Oh and BTW:

"96 onder de golf".... must've been one helluva car-crash ;D
