"I climbed the curtain" is definitely a cat reference.

Next time he'll look before he kisses the carpet.

"I climb the curtains"; I'm sure I've heard that phrase in association with drug withdrawal. See also "climbing the walls".

Andy's hamster had died.
By accident he'd gotten an albino hamster replacement [hence the red eyes].
Andy sure didn't like that, cuz as y'all know the dirt shows remarkably on white color; moreover, the white rat was female! [she wear dust].
Andy then tried to grab the little albino monster in order to get rid of it
In the process of doing so, he smacked his kisser to the floor and had to pull himself up by the curtain. [bust - carpet - curtain scene]
Andy is bewildered - he was so bloody sure he'd gotten the albino, but it had escaped again! [I was sure, certain]
Lesson learned for Andy: better watch it when you try to get hold of an albino hamster [next time I look before etc etc].
I know.
I'll get me coat then.

He says next time the darkness? I always thought it was next time the carpet. The lyrics don't seem so jagged now.
Addition - I've just listened to the song again, and the lyrics are definitely next time I’ll look before I… next time the carpet. Next time I’ll look before I… kiss the carpet.

Not exactly hardcore evidence of the definition, but I found this.
2. curtain climber
A crack head. paranoid. Constantly getting up to look out the window to make sure the cops arent coming. Nosey person, wanting to know whats going on all the damn time. Frequently seen at ghetto apartment complexes, cheap hotels, projects and pych wards.
I'm aware that Black Planet was probably joking, but could this song be about both amphetamines and cold war paranoia?

I thought "climbing the walls" was a euphemism for losing one's mind (or feeling like one's losing one's mind, hehe) - i.e., from boredom, frustration, etc..?

So as usual...
To quote the Big Philosopher Johan Edlund:
"Our next song is about our drinking problems. In fact, ALL our songs are about our drinking problems. Cheers!"

All of their songs are secretly Roadrunner/Wile E Coyote references.
