Finding a hostel in Leeds

Help!

I need to find a good cheap youth hostel in Leeds at short notice. YHA don't have one so I'm not sure who to use.

I'm visiting the uni, so it needs to be walking distance...

Thanks.

If you do visit the Uni, please give my regards to the Department of Politics, and also to Lyddon Hall, and also to the sports centre, and also to the Union... What a great time I had there. :D

Ah...Leeds...[sigh]
They knew what they were doing when they called it "higher" education - I spent 4 years at Leeds Poly enjoying some of the finest...um...herbage, courtesy of a very very nice man in Skipton (hi Rob!).

In my day, it was swimming in the "fast stuff" ;)

I'd offer you a sofa to sleep on Maisey but we have a psychotic dog...

William was certainly useful in getting assignments in on time and for when the house needed cleaning.

 I shared a flat with a guy who bought by the nine-bar. (That's a quarter-kg for the metrically minded)

Didn't get much sleep that year. :innocent:

Anyway, sorry, Maisey wanted somewhere to stay.

:notworthy: Good man!

Leeds University? <Spits on floor> Always looked down their noses at us when we visited their library. Jeez - we even had to have a pass signed by our tutor just to look at their books.

Anyway, enjoy your trip to Leeds! :)

The Morley, at Woodsley, too, if I remember correctly. Andrew S, a few others and I stayed there several times (different landlords each time), and always had a great time and excellent British breakfast. :notworthy:

Thanks folks.

I opted to base myself in Manchester and take exursions from there - currently on my last 3 minutes internet time at the YHA.

It was well-known when I was there that poly students couldn't read - what were you doing in their library, Norm?

 You had Lorne Sausage, Black Pudding and Tattie Scones (Deep Fried Soda Bread and Hash Browns in Belfast) served up as well?

If not then you meant the vastly inferior English Breakfast.

You ain't had nothing 'til you've tried a "Glasgow All Day Breakfast" ;D

 Since I was studying a non-fashionable subject (Manufacturing Engineering), the library at the time didn't have enough depth of books to adequately cover a project we were working on. Naively assuming cross-University co-operation, we trundled in and tried to look at - not even take out - the odd book or-two. How silly of us

Anyway, we did eventually get the necessary material - but it (and my sisters' attitude who did Geography up there) tainted my opinion of the place.

Update: She's now on £36k+ at 31 years old, I'm on £Considerably Less and older :?
