Big Electric Cat have Dr. Ruth
Children On Stun have Poison Dwarf
The Merry Thoughts have The Thought Machine
The March Violets simply credit drums to The Machine

Do you know any other named drum-machines? Besides The Doktor, of course. :notworthy:

Ghost Dance's was Pandora.

Doubt it, Dave. If all else fails, I can try making some death metal if I play it at double-speed.

The Double Happys, New Zealand noise band of the mid-80's, had one called Herbie Fuckface. Apparently he was incredibly low tech, you would kick him to make him stop playing and a goddamn bossa nova rhythm would come out.

And then one of the two human members of the band met a tragic end by leaning out of a window on a train when a tunnel was coming. Trufax.

SYL's drum machine is called the Atomic Clock.

He's actually human, tho when you hear him drum, there's reason to doubt that ;)

IZ.

The Hated Reign's is called Johnathan E.

If memory serves, didn't Echo and the Bunnymen have a machine called called Echo?

Will Sergeant -
We had this mate [Smelly Elly] who kept suggesting all these names like The Daz Men or Glisserol and the Fan Extractors. Echo and the Bunnymen was one of them. I thought it was just as stupid as the rest.

each day I trust my memory less and less but I seem to remember that the March Violets also used the very same Doktor Avalanche... or am I an utterly senile bastard already?

I'm pretty sure they did.
James Ray And The Performance used Doktor Avalanche (for at least Mexico Sundown Blues) as well.

As far as I can remember we used cardboard boxes, cushions and a couple of kettles to create the drums/percussion fro Mexico. The Doctor just wasn't up to the job - a bit like Sylvester McCoy at the time.

Jeez, but what type of cardboard boxes?

Ah right. I'm just going by an old Performance interview I read, some references to Doktor Avalanche on drums, and one of you on bagpipes. :?:

LOL! Panpipes not bagpipes. Another dumb-ass, pseudo-journo. They may be able to spell but they sure as fcuk don't know how to listen!

BTW - not one drum machine I have ever used has been given a name other than the manufacturer's recommended one.
