I was wrong (dev rant part 2)

For anyone that remembers the thread about the "death" of the Devonshire arms, or for any London goffs that care.
I was wrong. The re vamped bar under new management is good as ever. Still Gothic As Fcuk, still everything. It's just a bit cleaner, the staff are a bit nicer, there are slightly more people in it and a slightler better atmosphere.
The worry that the change from gothic to "general alternitive" meant that it was going to become another metal bar has turned out to me unfounded. It's simpley meant that people don't have to feel like they have passed some sort of test to be allowed to drink there - I feel more in the accepting and indivualist spirit that goth stands for anyway.
Result, more fans from accross the spectrum packing into what is still a goth bar. That says to me, fresh blood for the scene, not decline and fall.
The clincher for me was this: It's now open early sunday morning for post slimelight coffee. I don't think that's a move that would be made by a venue trying to dissasociate itself with the goth scene.
Horray for being utterly wrong!
