reason #1) because you get to do this to a room full of punters:

 :innocent:

still, it made a change from the hardcore industrial noise ;D

what can i say

i've always liked dropping in a 'curveball' tune here and there, and started playing stuff like the original 'gimme gimme gimme' and 'jolene'.. ironically of course :D after that i also started playing 'rasputin' every now and then because its a damned groovy tune... then it got to the point where the regulars were actually requesting it :o

you cant beat a bit of trashy 70s disco to end the night with ;D

Nice you were able to close your set with a non-request...

aye

the guest djs had been told that they were invited to 'do their thing', and as such not many requests got played for the main part of the night.

as were usually a very request-friendly club i had quite a few to get through in a very short space of time :o

The Stooges: I'm Bored
Isn't it a solo Iggy Pop tune :?:

Looks like a top nite out. 8) :notworthy:

ahh, quite right.

i was a wee bit pished tbh, and it was on 'a million in prizes' - http://www.discogs.com/release/1094273 - a combined stooges & iggy best of. when i wrote it down i must have assumed that as it was quite groovy (rather than a bit downbeat) it was a stooges song

Don't you have the advantage of playing to a room full of, ah, people of differing genders?

And bloody Safety Dance, that effing song is everywhere I go. Is it some part of the DJ's code, that you must play it to a load of Goths at any opportunity?
