Woke me up at 12:55, naturally I blamed Gaz with his sound surround - thought he was watching some 'naam' film, as is his wont!

Epicentre down the road a few miles at Market Rasen. 5.3 on the whatsit scale.

Lincolnshire is hot news!!! One of the hostages is from Lincoln too

I had a late night last night & was just falling asleep when the tremor happened. The bed was actually shaking and that NEVER happens in our house!

Actually I've had a rethink, I believe I did feel the quake after all. I'd gone to bed with the intention of watching 'chavwatch with Steve Scott' but switched it off after 10 mins or so cos I was nodding. I was just at the point of dropping off when I heard the ironing table rattling, thinking the cat had just jumped off it I shouted at her. Now that I think about it she did appear rather spooked. Oh and the ladder on the landing was rattling too. Didn't think any more about it and promptly rolled over and fell asleep. There you go, my great earthquake experience

That was ace, although I assumed at the time that the neighbours were being their usual boisterous selves.

We never get earthquakes up here. Boo hiss.
I remember there was one in Dudley a few years ago, that amused me no end

It woke me up, felt like someone was shaking the bed! I thought it was just me or a local freak event or something, then Ian burst in and said "What the f**k was that?!" so I thought oh it wasn't just me then, and then went back to sleep. I was quite surprised/impressed to see it on BBC news when I got up to have my brekkie! :D

Woke me up, I watched stuff amble around my room, when it was over, I fell asleep. I'm not getting stressed unless it's at least six on the Richter...

I promise I'm more enthusiastic in bed though, ladies!

QI says that they don't use the Richter in seismology much, IIRC.

That show does offer a lot of counter arguments. But I've checked with Wiki - all hail! - and they don't say it's no longer employed.

As much as I like Stephen Fry, I'm still gonna trust to the science. :P
