Headless Baby Bunnies ...

Thought I'd let y'all know, I just discovered a headless baby bunny (brought in by our Nicholas - a Russian Blue cat)! - Knowing how much some of you love Schlock Horror?! - Plenty of the real stuff here for us Country Bumpkin/Hillbillies ... Not always what I want though! ... Also, it ain't much fun clearing up afterwards (the blood is awful hard to get off the carpet!) ...

I imagine some of you have similar stories to tell?
- (e.g. Mark & his DogFiend?!)

  :? :innocent:

my bitch:
2 cats
one chicken (take 10 PLN ~ 2 Ł ~ 2,5 €, to buy a peace )
and probably one mice
but, hey, she's a hunter and this is a nature.

Hi Bianka! - Give us a woof then?!

(Bianka is great, but probably best that she & Nicholas never meet, eh?)

Husky means - hoarse/hoarsely (in some language can't rembr in what) and my bitch sounds exactly like she's really have it, and btw how many times you heard Husky or Malamute's woofing ?

Our dog used to bring in dead rabbits all the time, back when we lived in the country. He'd plonk them at my dad's feet, and look up smiling and wagging his tail.

What could you do?

Bianka's great! I love dogs from cold places (Huskies, malamutes and especially Samoyeds....) got a sammy called Benjo...

He's just too friendly to bring home headless critters though. He did try to make friends with a hedgehog once - that ended badly...! He's got a nasty habit of standing on frogs and laughing about it as well. Tried to get him to chase the mice that used to live in the kitchen, but he just wanted to play with them :|

I had a girlfriend staying one night & at around 3 in the morning she woke me up screaming, as my (then) cat, Igor, had brought a live mouse to bed & dropped it on her.
I think she just about woke up the whole street.

But Igor's piece de resistance was the day I came home from work & wasn't greeted by the "feed me, feed me" welcome at the front door.
I went through to the kitchen to find him batting the cat flap & miaowing.
I opened the door & there, in the back garden was a full-on dead parrot
It was bigger than Igor! Bl00dy great green & blue thing it was.

The bloke in the house backing onto us had an avery with a net around his garden. Igor had got in & made off with a big coloured bird.

Difficult to surrupticiously put into the dustbin that was.

Ha! I recall our old cat Pagan ( a tortishell part Manx part Persian) , took it upon herself to mercilessly slaughter the fledgling Bluetits we had in our garden. That is the only time birds have ever nested in our back yard and they haven't done it since.

What gets me is that she was 14 at the time and had about 3 teeth in total, dull blunt ones at that ( we had to reallly mash up her catfood ) . She must have gummed them to death because there were no marks or blood on them.

One was half alive  and I did try to save it, but sadly it died by morning

Horrible Beebee! ( cat's nickname )

Thanks :) I did just sort of barge in here didn't I? Sorry about that. I'm not much good at introductions/explaining myself so I tried to creep in when I thought you all weren't looking :innocent:

Nah, that's alright. I think most "hello, I'm new" threads get hideously derailed pretty quickly anyway.

Hi there Honeythorn, welcome to HL. There is always someone watching...

Right back on topic....

All the dogs we had growing up were all softies except for my pa's last mutt...small white cheeky thing that would growl or snap at any kids coming near her. We recon she was abused at a young age (my dad found her on the side of the road - stranded just after having pups, no pups insight). :( I understood why she was the way she was really.

My very first cat was a black one (got her when I was 6 or something). She used to drive my mother crazy as every odd morning a dead bird was left in the bath for her to show it off. My dad had to ring a few birds necks in those times, if she hadn't gone for a neck kill, the bird was usually really badly injured. She would be out all night and come curl up under the blankets with me around 4 am....purring away :notworthy:

Now my Pixie another gorgeous cat that is a boy, a few months ago brought his first mouse home. A tiny little thing already dead. I'm still not sure if he killed it or found it dead? Lazy Pixie just does crazy meowing sounds at the sight of birds but has just to this day actually caught one. But I love his girly nature, it suits him.

One of my ex boyfriends had three cats.
One day -he lived in the countryside, stunning place in the middle of nowhere - one of them, a female called Desdemona (who was known to be the "laziest" of the lot) brought in the house a baby bunny -more or less headless. Mildly entertaining, I must admit...
The only "boy" of the lot -a lovely tiny black cat called BrownBear or BB (I simply adore cats, I think they're the most amazing creatures in the world and I loved BB as if he was "my" cat)- enjoyed chasing small mice around very much, then bring the poor wee souls inside, showing them to us and then starting munching them up, always in front of us.
I will always remember the tiny "cracks" of the mice's bones as they were chewed by BB. (I know, shouldn't be laughing but was kinda sweet...)

When I was a horrible young child, I used to catch butterflies and hold them by one wing for my cat to catch and eat. :| I was only about 5 at the time though . I am no longer cruel to the pretty things. ;D
