A retired greyhound halted a professional football match when the noise from the crowd and the floodlights' glare brought back memories of her former racing life.
Fool's Mile escaped from her owner, did four circuits of Fleetwood Football Club's pitch in Lancashire and stopped play between Blackpool Reserves - to a standing ovation from fans.
The five-year-old rescue greyhound with 11 wins to her name seemed to be reliving the glory days on Thursday, said her owner, Jane Holland. "No one was chasing her," she said. "It was as if all her old instincts had come back. We were nearby and when she heard the crowd she was off. She just ran through the turnstile and ran and ran. I think she was looking for a hare to chase."
Andy Pilley, the chairman of Fleetwood FC, said: "It was hilarious. The dog had clearly run on a track before."
