Paddy´s Day

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I've yet to see the river in its once-a-year shocking neon green state - and I've been in Chi for 8+ years. :innocent:

I'm teaching classes tonight, alas, but when I get home I'll be breaking out the Tullamore Dew and my old Clancy Brothers LP's... much to my wife's delight, I am sure.

Well it must be the luck of the Irish but after two years living in Spain .We found an Irish pub today that actually looks like a Irish pub. Dark smokey and dirtyish( for Spain) and they serve quite a nice pint of black and to add to that they have great tapas plus the locals are very easy on the eye unlike all the ugly red neck feckers (myself included)back home. All that and its only a five minute drive from home.
At last I have found myself a local :D

It's the one night of the year I dare not venture out - seems that after 3 lite beers the Americans in my city become convinced of the following:

1. Ireland was bl**dy marvellous, famine and english landowners not withstanding.

2. Having once known someone named Shamus, you automatically become irish, even if your surname is Majewszki.

3. Being irish you are entitled smack any english people around the head because your grandfather was forced to leave ireland during the potato famine (even though your surname is Majewszki and your dad emigrated here from Poland in 1982).

Blessed as I am with a cut-glass english accent, St Pat's is the night I stay at home.
