I'm talking about t-shirts, patches that sort of thing. Does anyone else indulge the craftiness?

Very nice.
I'll have to take a pic of my leather that an old friend (though not any more) painted for me.
Would a tattoo count aswell?

I copied it directly from a poster. Also I've just looked on the back of my copy of FALAA, and the exact same head and star is on the back at the bottom. The Merciful Release logo? . I figured it would look nice in red on the black background, the star is slightly off kilter but I ain't perfect. I can only draw from what I have. Incidentally I've never seen the head you've pictured there, before now.James Blast wrote:the head's wrong, as is the star

I wouldn't worry about it - James is, by his own admission, a "grumpy auld baisturt"Honeythorn wrote:I copied it directly from a poster. I hate to have to say this, but James is right. The head is titled back. I also checked the Merciful Release logo on the back of FALAA, and you haven't copied it exactly. Still, no real worries as the concept you've come up with is great, IMHO.Honeythorn wrote:I copied it directly from a poster. As for the head and star James is using, go here. Eldritch changed the design in the mid-1990's.

I think it's cool!
Certainly better than I could do freehand with fabric paint onto unstretched cotton ... and I particularly like the bridge. Also you did it yourself ... which is always a big plus in my book ... so you have something unique and personal.
I actually taped a bit of tracing paper to my monitor screen as a guide in order to get the shape for my 3-D model.

Looks good - many moons ago I tried to paint the logo on my bedroom door, freehand, using only the teeny-tiny logo on the spine of a Floodland cassette as a reference - needless to say, it looked sh*t. Almost as bad as the FALAA logo I tried to paint on the back of my PGL staff sweatshirt a short time later. At that point I gave upHoneythorn wrote:Ah well. Nice looking shirt, though

Is there a photo of my leather anywhere on this computer I wonder?
If not I'll try and dig it out and photograph it later.

No worries. When I did my leather I used some thin, clear plastic stuff and traced the logos onto it, put some pin holes in and ended up basically doing "join-the-dots." The main problem is finding a big enough logo to copy from/trace.Honeythorn wrote:Ah well. I tried to get it as close as I could anyway.

I used to have a suitcase with the old MR logo on it - I traced the logo from the Albert Hall poster on to a sheet of white paper, pasted it onto some cardboard (I may have used a large ceral box), and very carefully cut out the design. Then sprayed an area of the side of the suitcase slightly larger than the logo with white paint, stuck the logo on to this space iwth photomount spray, and then sprayed over it with black paint. You could probably use the same technique with a jacket but you might not want to cover the back of it with paint. The effect is quite good, but it looks more like a stencil than a painting.Syberberg wrote:No worries. I tried recently putting the MR logo onto the side of a pair a converse style black runners using the logo from TOL seven inch.Only problem was my craft knife for cutting the stencil was about as sharp as I am .Might give it a another try soon.
