Been sent this snippet of info:
With very kind permission from The "Von"
Ben Christo from The Sisters of Mercy will be playing
guitar for
Ayin Aleph on her European Tour. You can go
to her website to win 2 places on The Guest List for
the show nearest to you. (from Friday)
www.ayinaleph.com
It's great music that I'm sure some people with a rock
interest will love. A real chance for Ben to show his
Metal (as it were).

Pretty girl, dumb flash site.
Does she have any qualities other than, well, the obvious ones?

Why not have a listen or a look at the videos and judge for yourself? That would be the intellectual thing to do, surely. personally I think she has lots of qualities but it really depends upon your taste. If you like symphnic harmony and operatic gusto then you'll like it, maybe. Or maybe, you'll just end up "admiring" her "obvious talents" as maybe, that's as deep as your intellect will allow your taste to develop.
Seriously, I really didnt expect such blatently sexist remarks on a Sister's site. I find that remark highly offensive.

I won't talk about matters of taste here. But a fact is: The flash baubles make the Ayin Aleph site dreadfully slow to browse.

We're all a bunch of sad old goths, what did you expect?
Besides, if you can't stand remarks about your music or your girlfriend/wet dream/relative/whatever, that's even sadder IMO.

Oh, and to comment the music:
Her voice and technique is quite nice, but her melody and there rest of the band's melodies are very dissonant. That means it sounds bad and toe-curling for a musician. Sometimes this is good, but here it is very annoying.
For the rest, it smells heavily like Nightwish, and I kinda despise this Female Fronted Opera-meets-metal thing. That and the rather cliché track titles make me steer away from the music.
Sorry.

Thank you for your honest review and taking the time to listen. Valid opinions dont bother me. Primitive, sexist mono-syballic-linguists do.

OK, this is how I see it. I've read some opinions and comments posted here about various more or less recognised musicians (by "more or less recognised" I mean those who may be kinda cool or not, but will obviously never become a new George Michael if you know what I mean). Sometimes I even felt like adding my own opinion, but I bit my tongue because I know that it should be all about tastes, which shouldn't be discussed, and so on.... But suddenly I had a thought that I think I should share with you. I think that if Ayin Aleph was a long-time, general-chat-frequenting, all-HL-meetings-attending member of this forum, she would receive a lot of kind words and back patting here.

Avoid! Avoid!
And hey,
Aleph, you really need to get a thicker skin if you're going to hang around here.

Not a fan of Flash websites, but I gave this a try anyway, just to be fair. Not my cuppa, sorry.

Not true... bad music is bad music, be it HL-based or not.
I'm a musician (at least that's what I think
) and I judge music in the most objective way possible.
Also I don't need sucking up on some people on an internet forum to make myself feel happy and wanted.

I'm with you Iz. That is bad - and can't see anything make it better.
And after witnessing Ben with Claytown Troupe - I don't think he is in a position to do it either.
IMHO Ben Christo is officially the worst guitarplayer ever enlisted by the Sisters of Mercy. But he is probably cheap.

Well I dunno, to tell you the truth I didn't even bother to check the link.

we're jealous because Ben is hangin' around with all the wrong types instead of our pet called The Sisters.

True. But I see that he is young and needs the money.

No at all. Whatever he wants to do. Better even, if it makes him leave the band...
