Things like this happen a lot Marco! Unfortunately there is a lot of hit and run in the weeding world!

I don't see the problem. It's not like he's making any money off it; and we've had traffic go in the other direction too; stuff off Dime ended up weeded or shared on here. (Including one FLAC Dime d/l that someone ended up sharing as mp3 -- that went down like a pork pie at a bar-mitzvah.)
I've put things on Dime I've got from weeding here. As far as I'm concerned, it's "spreading the wealth" further, frankly I'm a little surprised that anyone would object.

then none have to say nothing against me if i'd upload some of the best weedings i had?
i have a very bad ratio

I don't have a problem with sharing. I do have a problem with hit and run; not caring about reweeding at all.

It's when stuff ends up on eBay that we call "FOUL!", particularly when it's pretty obvious that the source was a Share or Weed from here.
One of the purposes of Weeding/Sharing is to get stuff in wider circulation, so that fans who don't have an extensive collection to trade can get their hands on it. Another purpose is to help people get stuff without having to pay money to bootleggers. I'd say putting them on Dime fulfils both of those admirably.

Why would anyone have a problem? I stopped weeding when I realised that torrents were easier.

I don't think gimmetruth is a HLer at all. But he's a peefectly nice bloke who's sharing stuff just like we do here. In fact I'm passing some stuff on to him. I don't think any of what I'm giving to him did come from here but so what if it did? It's all just different ways of sharing. I've certainly had no problem leeching his torrents and I doubt if anyone else would either. It works both ways.

has anyone been arsed to search the memberlist? me neither, but the name rings no bells. doubt he's a HLer, and certainly not a hit and runner of my time here. hit-and-run merchants aren't the sharing types are they?
sharing is the way forward, weeding is one of the more mutually beneficial ways; but putting something on dime-a-dozen is totally selfless as there is nothing to gain from it but the promotion of your own musical taste.

Period. If some ass sells stuff on Ebay, black market and music gatherings just because the ass is in it for the money, he needs to be punished.
If a pale teen who just threw away his Panic At The Disco shirt discovers the sisters through torrents and all that, the world has won. In the end he wants to buy a lot, because he starts to collect etc.

Wow, my own thread and I wasn't even a member ! Long time lurker, first time poster. My uploads on DIME come purely from my own tape collection bought at Records Fairs in the mid to late '80's, there all unknown gen, and nothing was particularly rare, but I'd leeched so much from DIME I felt I had to give something back. Cyberbio seems to have trumped me somewhat with his recent 65 show '84 flood, I've got a few others to put up in time, but nothing that doesn't already appear in any collection, as per another thread here I'm of the belief that 18.06.85 was the end of the Sisters so I'll try to put up a few Mar/Apr '85 shows before CB gets there.
P.S: Thanks Stu for the character reference
