Heartland

I'll be in and around Stockholm for three weeks next month and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I'll be staying with my girlfriend and her family and they all grew up there and that should cover the normal tourist things, so I'm mainly looking cool music and (English) book stores...

The best part of town for music & books (and everything else) is by far "Södermalm". Music store "Pet Sounds" on Skånegatan is well worth a visit. Then walk across the street to "Pet sounds Bar" for a beer...

Sadly, if I'm not mistaking, "Little shop of Records" is no more.

If your girlfriend can read swedish you can use this "Everyting about Stockholm" website to find some decent record stores.

Otherwise I'll have to agree with flakk13, södermalm is by far the best area for music and such.

Thanks. Yeah, my girlfriend is Swedish, and a native Stockholmer, but she hasn't lived there properly for 9 years now so I'm looking for places she may not know of. I'm sure there are a few on that site.
