anyone here ever go to eric's in liverpool 'back in the day'?

trying to find details (and/or a few photos) of some old faces, for a friend.

in particular, anyone who remembers a chap called boxhead or a couple of his mates (one of whom is called kev?)

found one photo of boxhead on flickr, from way before he had the quiff for which he later became renowned ( clicky ), and mention of the scene on a myspace forums post (clicky), but not much else :|

its a long shot i know, but maybe ramone or snowey might have some ideas? :D

One of the old bosses in work used to be mates with boxhead back in the day. I did ask him once if he had any old tat from Erics and was told no he lost it all in various house moves :( Wasn't boxhead on the telly the other year talking about Erics?? I'll see if i've got it somewhere.

He did tell me that once fell down the stairs at Erics and knocked into Pete Burns who in turn banged his head on the wall causing his mohawk to collapse. Apparently Pete ran into the bogs crying like a girl.

Ramone might be your man as he's a lot older than me.

You might (and I stress might) do better asking around over on Head Heritage.

I've some extremely ropey old b&w video footage of Big In Japan playing a couple of live sets there ... (Jayne Casey, Bill Drummond, Holly Johnson, Ian Broudie, Budgie ... even Julian Cope is in it at one point doing some backing vocals) ... this any use to you?

Not got any photos but I think I've some old flyers..one of them even advertising U2 before they had a record contract, for £2 entrance. And Adam and the Antz for £4..see what I can dig up.

And yeah, I used to know Boxhead, he went onto to be one of the foremost flyposters in Liverpool. he did a lot of Rosetta's Polytechnic shows for us.

You been down the Museum yet Ramone to look at the Liverpool music through the years thing they have on?

The "Erics" part of the display was excellent with loads of old memorabilia. Looking at all the old flyers... Adam and the Ants 75p The Damned 75p The Fall 75p The Clash £1.50 Stranglers £1.20 and that was in the same month

John Peel's HMHB CD's with his marks on and HMHB hand written lyrics plus Will from the bunnymens 1st guitar were the main things I went for.

Nice Rosetta pic on the wall as well.... did Kim take it or just provide the pic?

I'm going next week to see the Eric's thingy. Kim's (Rosetta Stone) working at the theater that is putting on the 'show'.
I only went when it as Brady's (same place simply a name change) It then became at one point Planet X that saw Rosetta, Play Dead, Getting the Fear etc play..and at one point Kenny was trying to book the Sisters on the Black October tour ( that Play Dead were due to support on) which would of been amazing!! :notworthy: :notworthy:
