BBC FOUR Sessions: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Part of Nick Cave Night: The charismatic front man and his band are on scorching form at this special BBC concert at St Luke's in London, as they perform an exhilarating set drawing from their latest album Dig! Lazarus, Dig! and highlights from a 20 year repertoire including The Mercy Seat, Red Right Hand and Stagger Lee.
Cave comes on like a Southern preacher in the festooned, converted church and soon has the appreciative crowd hanging off his every word and singing and dancing in the aisles. The Bad Seeds are clearly still at the top of their game and Warren Ellis provides extra entertainment, coaxing unearthly howls and shrieks from his fiddle, floor pedals, and tiny guitars
Amongst the organised chaos, there are quieter moments of balladry that show the full range of their musical achievement, but it's the excitement that lingers. Not to be missed by any but the fainthearted.

Three classic songwriters share the stage at West London's Subterrania club and perform their songs as they were first written. The concert features Chrissie Hynde, Nick Cave and John Cale. Songs include: Back on the Chain Gang, Fear, Into My Arms Again, Kid, Mercy Seat and Ship of Fools.

Nick Cave currently tops the list for most appearances on Later....with Jools Holland. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have appeared eight times and this show collects many of those performances between 1992 and 2008 with classic songs like There She Goes (My Beautiful World), He Wants You, Nobody's Baby Now, Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow and many more.
Featuring Cave's first appearance on the show with Shane MacGowan in November 1992, duetting on Louis Armstrong's signature song, Wonderful World, and his May 2008 appearance on the first series of Later Live from his most recent studio album, Dig! Lazarus, Dig! Also included is a 1989 performance from Later's BBC studio precursor, The Late Show, with The Weeping Song and a rare 90s BBC performance outside the Later studio, his duet with Kylie Minogue on Top of the Pops from 1995, Where the Wild Roses Grow.
