Batman : Dark Knight

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Anyone seen it yet? Got a boot but might give it a miss & see it properly. Though its looking very tempting right now...

Anyway, Ledger for the oscar apparently!?! Is he that good or we talking a typical silly Hollywood tribute? If he tops Nicholson I'l be suprised.

I have seen him a couple of days ago.
First impression while trying to not spoil anything for anyone.
A lot better as Batman Begins, with far a better story. A lot more drama
The Joker is the best joker you can imagine (I’m not saying he should get an Oscar that would maybe be a step too far) batman and dent are also a perfect couple!
But then the downside of the movie (for me at least and it didn’t ruin it for me but I would like to say..) most the fight scenes are quite fast and dark, Begins was a lot better in this, second some of the special effects are maybe a bit to much. It all looks great but at some points it loses it credibility a bit.

But people, this is a movie everyone should see! :notworthy:

I agree, much better than Batman Begins but I don't think Ledger beat Nicholson, nowhere near as good!

Its hit No.1 on imdb.com! Bit early for that I think but it must be very good at least.

Watched this last night! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Nicholson was portraying a more comic book-original version portrayal of the character (think of the film Dick Tracy). Ledger on the other hand portrayed him as a homicidal psychotic maniac  8)

Seen it Monday eve and quite liked it, but I have to say I expected more...
Can't really put my finger on it, but maybe I kinda missed the Burton touch.

Ledger does a wicked joker, that is undeniable! I even sympathised more with him than with the bat!

Anyway, a must see

A great film, worked on so many levels. The geek in me loved the references to some of the best graphic novels out there. Heath was brilliant, but so was Christian and I think people have been overlooking that. I'm still reeling from it, total f**king class!

I saw it in Manchester last weekend, then went back later the same day to see Journey to the Centre of the Earth 3D (complete with glasses). Me and the Mrs were the only ones in the cinema without kids at that one ;D

Thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Can't believe I saw a Batman movie before weebs

Ditto. Too dark/scary/graphic/violent for my young nephews, so it looks like I'll be flying solo - that, or I'll have to wait for the DVD. :(

Went to see it yesterday morning on my own (the wife rolled her eyes when I asked her to come!) - there were about 8 other people there. It was magical. I though Heath Ledger was waaaaaaaayyyy out there and ignoring all the hype (I am a comics fan first and foremost and always critical of comic book adaptations) I genuinely thought he pissed all over any previous Joker. He genuinely disturbed me. Bale is by far the best Batman as well and the fella who played Harvey Dent was quality as well.

They took a lot of the best bits of several Batman stories and it worked really well. If you haven't seen it yet, do. You won't regret it. :notworthy:
