It's the only place around that does Snake Bite & Black (well). You'd think it were a goth pub if it weren't for the dodgy music and influx of chavs on a Friday night

Not really a local (in fact I don't believe that I've ever been in either ) but it was amusing to spot these two side-by-side a while back. Somebody certainly has a sense of humour.

Over the road is the "Brazen Heid" but it's a very unsavoury place, being popular with the inhabitants of the nearby high rise flats....





"Sharky's" is better as they have a hall for live bands and a student crowd as the Nautical College is just round the corner, but is still popular with the inhabitants of the nearby high rise flats....

The absinth bar is nice too, mostly because of the outstanding drinks and nice architecture. People-wise it's a bit hit and miss
