I am thinking about selling my Sisters collection. Has anyone else done this and then regretted it? Obviously this is a purely financial thing. Thoughts?

Not Sisters but i've sold a lot of records only to buy them back later...
It ain't fun.

Do you actively engage in your collection or is it in a corner feeling all alone?
You well may regret it, but then you can't take it to your grave-unless you're really, really, really, really GOFF

I think you would regret it. Last time I moved house I sent a load of my books that I thought I'd never read again to Oxfam, and have since bought a fair few of them back.
And that's
books not Sisters records.

Well you've got to weigh up the problem of 'emotional connection' and 'money required to pay the bill's'. I've seen so many post's on other forums and even ebay, where people have had to sell off their prized collections due to financial hardship. If it's gotta be done, then.......
But to be fair
Bill, I don't think our 12th man would come out of retirement and return to your beloved

yep, if you are the kind of person that collects stuff in the first place, chances are you WILL regret it later.
and these days, barring the odd crazy item, the run of the mill stuff tends not to be worth the time, effort and money you originally spent on acquiring it

It's bad grisgris to sell records or books. If the books or records are symbolic of emotional periods in your life, selling them passes those things on to the new owner. Giving the item away, however, sets the demons free, and is karmicly a much healthier thing to do.
Plus, if you give them away to friends, then you always know where they are.
So if you've got any Damage Done that you're looking to offload, I'd be happy to take them off your hands...

My view - keep the collection.
Sold some Sisters records c. 10 years ago, because I needed money and thought, selling some of my Sisters stuff might be a great idea.
Afterwards, it took me years to get back the records sold, so leave it or you might end up the same ...

Thank you all for your advice.
I guess the thing is that this stuff just doesn't "mean" anything to me anymore. My affection for the music is the same, but are those items better off with someone who really cares about them? Plus, I need the cash. I will take some pictures and see what things are "worth"

Will you sell them on ebay or here?

I will put a list together.
I know I do have an XL t-shirt, and an XL long sleeved "Back Off The Streets" t-shirt never been worn.
Not sure about Ebay, more money for me I guess, but I wouldn't know the buyer. Ye ken?

Aye, we'd give you a more honest price. Sometimes rarities go for too little, but then again too much on ebay
