Dr Brian Cox who works at CERN, and also co-wrote Things Can Only Get Better went to the same school as me. He's a couple of years older.

I think I'll trust him not to blow up the world.

(TinyURL'd the link cos it broke. bbcode doesn't like brackets in URLs)

This is just another case of physicists imagining themselves far more important and capable than they are.

i believe in everlasting world without end.

We probably could live inside a black hole without noticing.
My only concern is: That black hole would be in Switzerland initially. I hope the Switzerians don't mind a couple of billion of visitors in their country.

That's much rather "People with no clue of physics believing physcists are way more powerfull than they are".
To sad that the bastard public still prefers Science Fiction to Science. Stephen Hawking's "History of Time" is such a good read. Especially the illustrated edition.

Well, at least until the sun explodes. But that's not for, ooh, months yet.

Nostradamus apparently predicted the black hole:

Leave, leave Geneva every last one of you,
Saturn will be converted from gold to iron,
Raypoz will exterminate all who oppose him,
Before the coming the sky will show signs.

See? That proves it. And there's an enthralling "video" discussing it too. The narrator really makes it interesting.

So the world ends next Wednesday. Can we bring sandwiches?

What I particularly like about this post, Christophe, is your very chipper attitude toward the end of the world; as if you're really looking forward to it... ;D

Wednesday you say, before or after I go to this demo of the latest Adobe Acrobat? If it's after, I'd be as well not bothering and just get pished up in the Solid Rock, since I'll be in Glasgow.

I'm a lucky man Raf I don't feel that I have anything left to accomplish.
(man it looks like I really mean what I am saying doesn’t it.)
