Wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. Last thing I want is to be getting work emails in my own time. :urff:

does your old phone connect using a cable or via bluetooth? bluetooth is a nightmare for batch transferring stuff :urff:

might not be too bad if you can connect it via a cable, but i know some phones dont have that option...

as for your address book, copy it to your sim, stick the sim in the new one and then restore... or do blackberrys not do that?

i know when i got my iphone i had to do that, but then after that it uses your computer's address book, so i had to merge both sets of contacts so that each person had their email addresses, mob & landline numbers etc as part of a single addressbook entry... the manual sorting & merge took about 15 mins but after that it works really nice and feels like a nice, tidy way of doing it

i would imagine that the blackberry prob does something similar because that is designed for computer synching...?

i don't actually have an address book on my computer. i could try the sim thing :D

do you use an email client on your pc (outlook, outlook express or thunderbird, for example) or do you use webmail services like gmail and hotmail via your browser?

if you use a desktop client that will probably have an addressbook which it maintains itself automatically based on who you send replies to... your blackberry would probably try and synch with that

if you dont have one and use webmail, your blackberry might start using your empty addressbook anyway  which shouldnt be a problem as it will just start adding new stuff into there, creating one for you and looking after it in the background

i'm assuming thats how they work btw - its certainly what happens with iphones.

if your mob can do emails its a nice way of doing it too - it means that you have all your numbers and email addresseses on you all the time, in one place & always in synch with your pc and phone 8)
