He was very much the kindly old Uncle. Another icon of my childhood gone.

Was listening to a piece on him on the BBC ( I know, I'm sorry I won't do it again) and I didn't know he drew the original logo for Blue Peter and the guys who made Morph 'n' Chas went on to become Aardman and make Wallace and Grommit. (Ok, you nerds out there already knew that I know!)
But they played the old Vision On theme tune and for once it made me sad. I used to watch that show too, well there was only three channels back then and I used to love the 'Gallery' of painting that looked like they been drawn by stroke victims on methadone .
These days, a man with the camp voice wearing cravats who likes to perform in front of thousands of school children would be run out of town like a common pygmy and then burnt alive. But back then the man was a heart warming sight who taught us about art and brought us the legend that is Morph!!

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
