Unhappy Birthdays??

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

much as i'm childish enough to still enjoy starting threads for the sake of it (not unlike being the one to pop the foil on a jar of coffee) it occurs to me that wishing people a happy birthday when they have long since stopped posting could be in bad taste if, for example, they have since kicked the bucket (bad) or simply given up on being one of the loyal deprived-yet-blessed and gone off to listen to coldplay (worse).

any-fuckin'-how: simply because i've tried crystal meth and it's the dogs bollocks and i haven't tried a sex dwarf (yet) but watching midget porn on lsd is helplessly hysterical -happy birthady. or not.

It's the 'Diana Effect' we must be seen to be grieving/enjoying or just plain joining in.

I don't subscribe to that me - be sincere (think local - act global)

A very guid friend of mine (and quite a few of 'us') got some extremely guid news recently, he got very few replies. It wasn't his bidet you see, no new thread where the title was so easy to read. I thought we were a community.

to be fair, i think most people missed the initial post re: the potential bad news, so the follow up lacked context and could have been confusing.

As this seems to have turned into a thread about me,let me explain.
I was diagnosed with a life threating illness about 10 years ago. Things were getting worse and I was offered treatment a year ago in August. The treatment was s**t and only had 50% chance of success.I've now been clear of the virus for over 6 months (considered a cure). I'm delighted, I was delighted at the response to my post. I'm delighted Mr B considers me a good friend.Happiest of times as far as I'm concerned.

I've never tried crystal meth or LSD, what am I missing ?

(Seemed a bit cheeky to respond to your announcement elsewhere when I hadn't any idea what it was about and didn't know you personally, so I opted for discretion...)

the oppurtunity to post flippant drug-fuelled bullshit which, despite being intended only to amuse, will just as likely not.

I wonder if Lee can offer some ramblings about birthday threads not for individuals or about those forpeople who were stiffs 200+ years before HL started.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't, eh? I had not heard of Pat's development, but it is indeed good news. Keep up the good work. :D

Maybe it is really a win-win situation: be part of a feel-good moment and needle James simultaneously. ;D Nah, good health news trumps jibing Herr Blast.

Alas no, but the daily ridicule should help with the compensation claim.
