What it says on the tin. A chance to show off a bit and make other record geeks green in the cheeks.

Mine are:

The Sisters Of Mercy - Body Electric 7"
Rosetta Stone - Darkness & Light EP
The Sisters Of Mercy - Walk Away 12" (w/Flexi)
The Human League - The Dignity Of Labour EP (w/Flexi)
The March Violets - Grooving In Green 7"

(Although I'm also pretty proud of my copies of The Hollow EP 12" by Children On Stun and Queen Of Swords 7" by Die Laughing, both limited to just 500 - I know that's more than 5 :innocent: ).

In no particular order

The Sisters Of Mercy - The Damage Done genuine 7" (yeah, yeah, I know, but it's rare and it took me forever to get one)

China Crisis - Diary Of A Hollow Horse CD in porcelain box (very unusual, very pretty and only 50 made)

Kate Bush - The Red Shoes CD in heart-shaped box with ballet shoes (the best of several promo boxes for this release)

Mike Oldfield - Platinum 1st pressing LP (the one that actually has all the songs listed on the sleeve)

Vice Versa - Eight Aspects Of cassette (rare as hen's teeth and I got mine direct from saxophonist Stephen Singleton)

The Sisters – Damage Done
The Specimen - Returning from a Journey on bat shaped 7 single
Screaming Dead – Children of the Boneyard Stones
Swans – Public Castration is a Good Idea
Crass – Reality Asylum / Shaved Women
Subhumans – Evolution EP

I had to think about this for some time, & still couldn’t get the list down to five. Each one of these was bought from Magpie Records in Worcester (except for Damage Done, that I spent a weeks wages on from a record shop in Birmingham). The Screaming Dead cassette EP came with a booklet & a badge that was stuck on a leather jacket for most of the 80’s. Also special mention to the Anarcho Punk bands that released so many records at pocket money prices, 45p for a fold out cover, music to dance to & an idea that might change your life– happy days.

Don't hunt for rare records these days at all, but from what I have, the list will be as follows:

Ofra Haza -"Jerusalem Of Gold" Promo CD-single (her last song, dont exist on any album, 200 copies were made in Israel)
Ofra Haza -"Fantasy" 1986 Israely VHS tape, hard to get these days
Gary Numan -"Voices" 1989 German only withdrown CD-single, very few were made
Gary Numan- "Radio Heart" 1987 Swedish only withdrown CD album (50 copies were made) signed by Gary

My Sisters collection consists of no rareties, no vinyls! (around 50 well known CD boots which cover years 1983-2003)

oooo! Noice! I've only got the second edition, which is still a pretty rare bit of thing in its own right. Although I did manage to lay my hands on "Burning Empires" which I'm pretty pleased about.

Would love to track down an affordable copy of TG&SS, it's on my needed albums list 8) .
Maisey is your 'Grooving in green' green vinyl?
NO...It's a standard 7"...I didn't realise it was repressed on green vinyl, or at all for that matter!

Since you ve found BE you should be very pleased, the original A&F cost me 130 euros, though i cant understand why the reissue is so expensive on ebay.
As for the negative "tgass" i bought that from the nightbreed mail order back in 98, it s 300 copies with the outer sleeve in negative and singed by Mark and the other chap.Nice item. Suspiria were a great band and "far heavens" will always remind me of my first time/day in London.

What i d die to find is a copy of This burning effigy s 2-track demo tape "eternal proccession". The best goth band of the 90s.

I buy/bought records to play....anything that is worth anything now no longer is plus the fact when I bought them I didn't know they might be worth summatz in the future. I even used to stick labels on them with my name on them. Gaz would cart his from pillar to post and use them as coasters.

If you looked through our collection you'd weep at what has been wilfully listened to and inappropriately used.....

I'm rubbish at this collecting mularky

the only vaguely rare stuff i have are the BE 7" (paid slightly over the odds - £60 - but what the hell, i WANTED it!) and a few obscure christian death EPs purchased around 1990 (think i paid in the region of £45 for one of them)...

not sure if the march violets, ghost dance, salvation & rosetta stone stuff is all that valuable (although the rosetta stuff is all signed)

i've never quite managed to work out if my copy of the chameleons' 'strange times' album with the pink border on the sleeve (rather than the usual light blue one) is worth anything either

mrs qb has got a few bits and bobs from bands like killing joke, the cure and the chamelelons, which she bought at the time to listen to, but that are pretty hard to come by now

I do have the first 4 christian death records from that french label, l invitation au suicide, nice editions but i find myself a bit embarrased when i think how stupid their name was/is, which means i have second thoughts about keeping them or not...

The Rosetta Stuff goes for a fair bit if you reach the right collectors. I paid £15 for my copy of Darkness and Light and somewhere between £20 and £30 for The Quarriers EP. I've seen some of the cassette EPs go for upwards of £30.

The first two March Violets "7's are worth over £10 each on a good day, the rest is still pretty easy to get hold of.

The thread wasn't most vaulable, but most prized (in terms of the record as an object as well as the music on it).

@ maisey: ahh, most prized

probably either the body electric 7", the darkness & light ep (which i got signed) or the quarriers ep (which was fan-club only, and came signed)

things which was tricky to find at the time, but not worth that much, but i like anyway include "glad to be alive" - the bonus live album that came with gene loves jezebel's "discover" album - cracking 'live' album that :)

if i went home and had a rummage there are probably a few others, but they're the ones that spring immediately to mind.
