M A G A Z I N E Oxford Academy (not so) Secret Warm Up Gig

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Saw Magazine last night playing their first gig together for about 25 years and put simply, they were sensational.

If you've even a passing interest in their music do try and catch them at one of the other UK shows. I'd not seen them live since 81 and am a huge fan so freely admit I'm writing this from a biased perspective.

With Noko on guitar replacing the late John Mcgeogh the sound was sparkling, Devoto on top form (what a fantastic lyricist he is), Doyle & Formula providing ample support to Barry Adamson's bass lines (The light pours out of me!) which have the same feel as that of the 83 - 85 Sisters gigs the 200 or so that were in the venue all saw a remarkable gig.

They play London, Manchester and Glasgow - (not sure if they are sold out) in the next few days - if you're going - you're in for a treat!

btw - have been reading some reviews - some great some not so. The not so focus more on the fact it all soounded so rehearsed, even down to the inbetween song banter and chit chat which was the same both nights.

The London gig has been on youtube for almost a week. :innocent:
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity
