OMG!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hey PoodleSkirt! :) Yeah I've heard of it. In fact, I saw it. Why, did you not enjoy it?

A "Hello and Welcome" is a more civilised way to introduce oneself here on the Mainland, Poodle.

Try again.

Olivia is not a bot, unless they've gotten a lot more sophisticated while I wasn't watching  (See this thread.)

But it was awfully peculiar to have Poodleskirt make this thread 'her' very first post, don't you think?

I was not talking about Olivia being a bot, I said Poodle was a bot ;)

But apparently Olivia knows him/her/it.

Point stands that a decent intro post makes for a more respectable entry on a forum...

Poodleskirt isn't a bot either, she's my roommate. :) I don't know why she chose to make that her first post, but we did watch that movie last week, so maybe she wanted to talk about it or something... Either way, she was probably drunk when she posted, so please excuse her.

And nice to meet you guys!

Disclaimer: This is not an attack at Olivia or her room mate by any means, more a general comment...

Why on Earth does being drunk qualify as an excuse for stupid or just downright bad behaviour? It's like some catch all excuse that people can pull out at will - even for some pretty dire actions.

I have nothing against drinking per ce, but the fact that it's so thoughtlessly abused by so many people and the fact that this is considered pretty normal is concerning to me.

If someone said "sorry for swearing relentlessly at you last night after trying to start a fight with your best mate, I was f**ked up on coke (for example)" it would hardly be laughed off. Replace the coke with some booze and that becomes a hilarious story to forgive and forget.

People CHOOSE to drink. Which to my mind means that being drunk is no excuse for their drunken idiocy.

I couldn't agree more, it was just a joke. You bring up an interesting discussion, though. There could probably be a whole thread dedicated to it.

Unfortunately it's no excuse for rape.

I also dislike Celine Dion, although she is a good reason to get very, very drunk.

In your own house, you can do whatever you want.

She's a very good reason for staying sober: After a few you might start to think of her as highly attractive.
