Tones on Tail - in a car commercial?

Just saw this today - ad for the Mercury Milan, with "Go!" playing in the background - I should be used to this kind of stuff, as it seems I'm hearing all kinds of good music in ads these days but it's just - strange. 
Makes me wonder what sort of people grew up and went into advertising/marketing.
