The March Violets To Play Wave Gottik Treffen, Germany

The official WGT website has just announced it!

The first day of the festival falls on the last day of my exams so I have to wait until the exam timetables are announced before I can book it - which means I run a greater and greater risk of it selling out *fingures crossed HARD*

Other acts on the bill I'll definatly go and see include the mighty Vendemmian, Inkubus Sukkubus, VNV Nation, Adoration, Clan Of Xymox, Nosferatu and Icon Of Coil.

Yessss.... glad to see someone else wants to go too! If anyone else is coming do announce yourselves :D Would be nice to get a group together. If you're skeptical I can assure you, WGT is great fun, absolutely huge and something for everyone, there really is 8)

I can barely afford to go to the off-licence, let alone Germany!

 I think it's the "Wave Gotik Treffen" that's putting them off, Maisey.

I'm quite interested but their site doesn't say which dates and I'm too lazy to check at the moment...

I think they've been soldiering on sinse their conception, with more lineups than a hospice house band.

That said, they're back with Louis, the singer from the "classic" era (Rise, Hellhound etc) and definatly worth their salt as a live band.

The gig is not happening.
I got this info last night from Matty (the bloke who played bass for them in Leeds '07). :|

I heard the same - but on explanation as to why...

as far as i know it was never actually confirmed. the organisers were a little premature in announcing their name on the bill

negotiations were at a relatively advanced stage, but there were still a few things that needed settling...

as it turns out there appearance has had to be shelved due matters beyond anyone's control :(

But every year always the same, always the same bands :|

Just like there are no other bands available besides Letzte Instanz, Incubus Succubus, Grendel, Xymox, Lacrimas Profundere and Winterkaelte...

I'd go for KMFDM, My Dying Bride, Samael and Opeth...

But then again, I can also wait for a decent metalfest ;)

IZ.

I've heard stuff by Combichrist, Xymox, Die Form, KMFDM and Nosferatu, so I'd go see them.. but it's not likely this year. Next year, maybe :)
