 This can sound a bit odd if you're not familiar with the subject ( if so, do some serious research please :von: ), but the thing is : I can't find Von's astro chart!
I know he was born on May 15, 1959, in Ely, England, as Mr. Taylor, but I don't know the accurate birth time. Can anyone help me?

Better not, or else we could get to know that the new album is never meant to happen.
A very adorable person from your country gave up on this a long time ago.

Much as I take such subjects with a pinch of salt, I must admit that I was astonished when I read mine, I mean astonished at how much truth there was in it.

Allow me to answer you by quoting two geniuses ( because, if you are one, I need numerical support ) :

Sir Isaac Newton, when chided by Haley (the discoverer of the comet) for believing such a "superstition" as astrology, is reported to have said :

"Sir, I have studied it, and you have not."

--------------------------------------------------------------

Astrology is verifiable if anyone will take the trouble to verify it. Why the stars influence us is a difficult question to answer, but it is not a scientific question. The scientific question is : do they or do they not? The reason why is metaphysical and need not trouble the fact, once we find that is a fact.

Did it read something like this?

You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself. While you have some personality weaknesses you are generally able to compensate for them. You have considerable unused capacity that you have not turned to your advantage. Disciplined and self-controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You also pride yourself as an independent thinker; and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. But you have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, and sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, and reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be rather unrealistic.

Edit: Moving to General Chat -- this looks like turning into more of a general discussion of astrology.

@markfiend -
No, no, and no. What you wrote is an example of popular "astrology" based on starsigns only, whereas a full proper chart based on a person's geographical location and exact time (hour, minutes) of birth, and including the position of all stars, is a lot more complicated, much longer, and much more thorough than that.

Precisely, Emma! The interpretation of a natal horoscope ( which can be done only by a person and not by a machine because it requires dynamic interpretation ) is an art and a science that requires considerable skill. The horoscopic positions and related aspects, progressions, returns and transits, are of a massive complexity.
To understand astrology in a propper way we must forget all the s**t around and try to study the works of Robert Hand, Alan Oken, Lizz Greene, Howard Sasportas, Stephen Arroyo, Dane Rudhyar, etc.

What about my question? Any answer?

Well, no. An art, maybe, but not a science.

Two more voices ( but what I really want is not to discuss astrology but to know the answer ):

That we can now think of no mechanism for astrology is relevant but unconvincing. No mechanism was known, for example, for continental drift when it was proposed by Wegener. Nevertheless, we see that Wegener was right, and those who objected on the grounds of unavailable mechanism were wrong.
Carl Sagan

Courteous Reader, Astrology is one of the most ancient Sciences, held in high esteem of old, by the Wise and the Great. Formerly, no Prince would make War or Peace, nor any General fight in Battle, in short, no important affair was undertaken without first consulting an Astrologer.

800mak: the quotes you present are taken out of context.

1: Sagan goes on to explain that the real issue is not whether we can observe a mechanism, the first detail is to observe the phenomenon. We can then study the possible mechanism after we validate that something is occurring. And the data for astrology is that there is not.

2: Franklin is actually mocking astrology here.

I wrote the horoscope for a local magazine once upon a time. I'd have people, not knowing that it was completely fictional, compliment me on how accurate it was. Am not dissing the possibility of astrology, just acknowledging there's a lot of people need to believe fiction. Talking of which Happy Bloomsday.....

Is it wrong of me to find it disturbing that you can get people's birth details on-line and available to anyone? :urff:

No. Very disturbing. Given a birth certificate, it's at least possible that you could get other documents. Ripe for abuse. :urff:

Incidentally, I very much doubt that :von: 's birth certificate would include time of birth; mine certainly doesn't. You might have some success with hospital records, but then there's medical confidentiality to consider.

Yup I know and that's what tabloid ''astrology" is doing all the time, and I'll still defend the real astrology, because I still remember that feeling of my jaw dropping to the floor while reading my chart and realising how true it was (and yes I was very doubtful about it beforehand).
Which is why - I think - the only person who can agree to such a chart being done is the person who is about to be described. No matter whether they think it's true, or s**t, or fun - no third party should allow such things, in my opinion.
Edit:
I'm 99% sure that AE wouldn't like his chart to be done, and I'm 100% sure he wouldn't like it to be done in here.
I think he said before in interviews that he thinks such things are s**t.
Well okay - he may think so, why not, I think that football and computer games are s**t so there. :P

You have a point - but how would genealogists do their research if they weren't able to access birth records? Maybe the way around it is to tie birth and death certificates together, if there isn't a death certificate then you can't get access to a birth certificate until 100 years (or some other long period of time) after it was issued. Of course, if the death certificate was issued in another country you might be SOL.
As far as the abuse bit goes, given HMG's apparent pathological inability to keep sensitive data sensitive (as opposed to, say, leaving it on a train, in a pub, in an unlocked car, putting it unshredded in the "Please read me and send to the Daily Mail" bin), I would be far more concerned about the govt. getting its mitts on my info. I was once told by a scrofulous 18 year-old at the job centre that I needed to get a new National Insurance number because his system didn't recognise the one I had, that I didn't exist because they couldn't locate a birth certificate for me (even though I gave them a notarised copy of it), and that being "foreign" meant that I had no right of abode in the UK (despite being a British citizen, holding a British passport, and being able to prove that I'd been a citizen since I was 6 months old).
If some scamp wants to impersonate me, go right ahead - that'll be two of us that enjoy the hospitality of UK Immigration for hours every time we come through Heathrow.
