Ted Kennedy dies

OK, split off from (so as not to derail) the "annoyed" thread here:

WTF? Out of order.

You can disagree with his politics (as I'm sure you do) but FFS, the man's barely cold.

IMO the last chance this generation had for decent health-care reform in the US died with him. :urff:

I don't think wishing a slow and painful death on anybody is acceptable. :|

His politics in the wider sense are his business. They may have been great for the average American for all I know.

I'd have thought a more suitable death for "Sir" Teddy would have been a slow, terrifying five hour suffocation in an underwater car. Or maybe being abducted by a terrorist group and made to "disappear" because the injuries suffered were so horrifying? Or let's make it quick, and blow him to bits by a NORAID funded bomb? All acceptable to inflict on others according to him.
So no. One less scumbag who's eulogies sicken me. The only thing I'm sorry about is having to hear more about him and his nauseating crooked family.

pretty naive view on the 'troubles' DeWint, he managed to do something many good and true men couldn't do, certainly he could not of achieved what he did sans John Hume, David Trimble and many, many others behind the scenes, don't do a good man down for one terrible transgression - oh ye sans sin cast the first rock

it's supposed to be the 'end of days' now, if you've read Nostradamus - when the third brother dies... blah, blah, woof, woof... :?

Yeah I thought so.

I was going to add a big rant, but basically James says it all.

Just consider this: Ted Kennedy was instrumental in getting Gerry Adams a visa to get into the USA, without which the Good Friday agreement would never have happened.

I doubt very much my "sins" have ever equated with letting someone drown to avoid a drink-drive rap. However, ones has to wonder wether you'll all eulogise George W when he dies. From cheating at the Ivy League, to his fathers dodgy business interests and foreign intervention they have one hell of a lot in common.

The Good Friday agreement was a surrender to extremists on both sides. Look what happened to the moderates, Trimble, Hume, Major and Ahern. It was crystal clear what was going to be achieved was at best an armed peace, with nothing surrendered . So the moderates lost their authority and their voters. An armed peace may be better than nothing, but the idea it's anything noble is ridiculous. A forced compromise to satisfy Bostonians who Clinton owed a few favours to.

I also find being told I'm "out of order" on a forum that once discussed street parties in the event of Thatchers death a little off, personally.

I just realise I never posted the phrase 'this is a HL all-time low' that much as the last half year or so.

So I'll refrain from posting it now.

This is the same as that Michael 'just another paedophile gone, good riddance' Jackson dross I read some time ago.
