then - hilarious
now - dull (or "Brillllliant" as he keeps saying)

I'm 40 mins in to a live vid of his and he's made me chuckle twice, I want to enjoy him.
He was a real talent back in the 70s, he's a bit of a cunt now.
I'm no happy.

anyone else still enjoy him?

He was only worth a few chuckles 4 years back when I saw him at The Armadillo, and a large part of the repertoire had been done before. Since he became a Laird of the Manor, the Welder's Jokes have stopped :|

I still like him. Proper rags to riches and still no side on him. He made it worth trying to understand your accent. And he landed Pamela Stephenson. Stop yer whining. You could have been stuck with Max Boyce.

I'm with Blast; he used to be funny -- and can still provoke the occasional giggle -- but largely cr@p these days.

I saw him on his tricycle thing driving around the side of Loch Ness. I couldn't tell from destance what colour his beard was. ;D

And as a fellow Jocko - you'd have thought Blast could spell his surname.

Can anyone maintain their edge once they reach a certain level of success and security?

Personally, I reckon it's all been downhill since he quit the drink.

But fair play to the man - he's made it from pretty much nothing and without entirely compromising himself.

My Uncle "met" him back in the 1980's in a 'fancy' Glasgow restaurant, in his 'Billy and Albert' suit with some young PA. After 30 mins of rather loud name dropping in order to impress her, everyone else in the Restaurant wished he'd STFU and leave them to enjoy their meals in peace.
