Extended mixes worth listening

Usually ext mixes are just a waste of time, especially anything by Depeche mode is a real challenge to test one person's patience.
Of course there are exeptions :

sisters : tol - lucretia obviously

echo and the bunnymen : killing moon (it could go on for another 9 min and still be great, what a version)

Jamc : sidewalking (what a beat, what a bass!!!!)

New order : sub culture (guilty pleasures)

all you good people will know a few more..

Oh, I can't agree with you there! DM were the absolute masters of the 12" remix. The Hands and Feet Mix of Enjoy The Silence is just heaven and Never Let Me Down Again (Split Mix) is one of the most godlike noises ever committed to vinyl :notworthy:

Other greats? Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order, Situation by Yazoo, and the ten minute glory from on high that is the "Wally MacDonald Disco Mix" of Follow Me by Amanda Lear. True, she couldn't sing for toffee and everything else she ever did was rubbish (apart from appear on the front of For Your Pleasure and go out with Bryan Ferry) but this is wonderful, OTT '70s Eurodisco In Excelsis. With great bastard crashing gongs for good measure.

seconded.
:urff:

& let's not even go near Bring On The Dancing Horses.

I kind of feel Lucretia extended is a bit too much really. A bit like Long Train. Totally loses its impact in the format.

Monsoon's Ever So Lonely was a belter of a 12" extended version though

Ah Lucretia could go on forever and it wouldn't be too long...Bring on the Dancing Horses is a great song...Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds doing Tower of Song...the 45 minute version...I hear there's an hour and a half version of it!

vision thing (candandian club mix) ok not a word "extended" in name of song but we all know that it's extended VT with louder doc beats and some interwieve fragments

I've always had a soft spot for the extended versions of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Two Tribes"

Not neccesarily an extended version, but wasn't the original Psychonaut rumoured to be around twenty minutes long..?

Sticking with FGTH, the 15 Minute version of Rage Hard that Annie Nightingale used to play back in the day :D Especially the "God-like Bass Guitar" bit...

Also a fan of Depeche Mode's Hands and Feet mix of Enjoy The Silence (Japanese Promo Only copy I acquired!)

Can I mention Spacemen 3 here? That 17 minute Rollercoaster - sheer bliss.

Thompson Twins b-sides.
