Phantom and Sandstorm are sort of trancifically ambient, though, no?
Not quite accurate Barry - Paris Riots stuff has surfaced in the form of Jacobs Ladder, there was a thread on here ages ago and this was a collaboration with James Ray.Quiff Boy wrote:from what i've heard, shortly after ssv he spent a bit of time playing around with synths in his bedroom. as well as the ssv guys he'd been hanging around with a few types who were into that kind of stuff (dave beer, possibly, as he was an old member of the sisters crew?)
my assumption is that being around people into that kind of stuff made him think he'd try his hand at it too.
a couple of people i know claim to have be played some bits of it in his studio, but that might not be 100% true.
they said it was pretty terrible though
