Sorry for this very dumb question, but what format is iTunes?

I do own a very cheap MP3 player, would that do? ... : : ...

Yes, I have made myself sort of incommunicado for some fifteen years in a way.

I don't believe it's on iTunes - I understand you get it straight from the band, presumably in MP3 format.

Any MP3 player, no matter how cheap should be able to play the standard formats (.mp3 and .wav). Not sure what format iTunes uses, but I believe they have their own special format, although I can't image they don't give an option for downloading music as mp3.

My choice would be to burn it off onto a CDR and play it on my CD player

yeah, that's what I'd prefer to do, I don't like to have a thing in my ears all the time ...

Oh yes, and they don't have it on iTunes, fortunately ... ... I didn't read properly, again ... ...

I'll order a CD in support. Had a listen to some of their songs, alright for me
and some variety to the other stuff I've got. Bad enough what happened there.
