They sound... uninteresting.

Those who suspect them of just joining to spam and promote their band may well be right - in which case I join you in condemning them. :x

However, I saw them play in Nottingham during my brief sojourn there and I'd say they're actually pretty good live. For one thing, the presence of a drummer immediately gives them a certain energy that so many bands in the genre lack. While some bands (well, one band ,) get away with using a drum machine, and even make it look like a good thing, for the most part you can't match having someone on stage hitting things with sticks.

I like drum machines.

Perhaps we should have a stickified 'promo' thread so you can pimp your band without offending traditionalist sensibilities?

Or maybe a 'Heartlandband' sub-forum?

That's my two-cents of oar-in anyhoo.

Plus, I like Luxury Stranger!

Pimping bands is OK as long as it's not all someone does (IMO). ANd to be fair LuxuryStranger has stuck around and "joined in". So fair enough, I think.

I think it's absolutely dreadful that someone might only visit Heartland when they want to promote their own tawdry wares. I'm quite outraged at the nerve of these people.

Oh look, are they playing Leeds? Is that that gig with Grooving In Green (ex of Children On Stun and Solemn Novena)? At the Subculture? With Friday Flock afterwards? How very tempting. I seem to remember seeing a facebook event for that somewhere too.

But yes, completely abhorent. Can't we just ban these people or something?

Yep tis terrible. And so is pimping poetry/art (which is probably the dodgiest couple of words I've ever written) so i won't mention anything about another issue of abridged coming out in a couple of months. Would just be wrong! ;D
