To slip or not to slip

If I was ever on Room 101 these horrors would be straight in there. Yes, I'm talking about slippers.
I mean, just look at these....
A machete should be taken to the offending wearer just above the ankle.
But...I don't know if it's age or living in a cold house but I'm feeling a need more and more for some form of foot wamth. I won't give in. I won't!
I've taken to wearing thermal socks instead.
What say you oh Heartlanders? Are any of you guilty of crimes against imdoor footwear?

You're implying you have clothing
without Batty on,
weebs!
I have indeed donned slippers before - because it isn't a fashion statement! Are you just objecting on style grounds,
Hom?

I did wonder if this post is taking scraping the barrell to new levels.
Sorry.
On another note: Well done Leeds again yesterday. Shame they didn't get the Rams in the next round (if they beat Spurs).

I'd still take the £££ and run, TBH. Totting-ham ain't gonna win it overall either, so get out after the Elland Road leg and concentrate on that there League One title.
p.s. My slippers are a very dark blue - only 'cos I could find any black.

I can't live through winter without slippers! Yes we also have wooden floors, but one advantage, the heating pipes run under the floor so have warm floors under those pipes.
The hubby doesn't wear slippers though, although, I didn't buy him any.
The kids also were slippers but more for in the mornings.
So our inventory is 3 x slippers (purple for the girls and black for the boy)
Oh and my 9 year old son has the same size shoe as me at this moment!

Totes Toasties were first mentioned in the Book of Exodus:
"And Moses led God's chosen people out of Egypt. For 40 years they wandered in the wilderness, and their feets were sore by day and cold by night. They cried out to The Lord, "Oh God of Israel, you have led us into the desert but our feet are sore and cold!"
And lo, on the following day they found the land about them strewn with strange garments that resembled socks but that had a sole that they might be walked about in without wearing out the fabric. And there was much rejoicing."
A fine garment, and better than slippers - you can tuck the bottom of your pyjamas or trousers into them and they're lovely and warm. The tread on the bottom means that they won't slip on your bare wooden floors neither, and you can pop them in the washing machine come the summer time.

yes, the Guinness Slippers in His and Hers (along with matching dressing gowns) are the in thing at the moment...until it gets a little warmer, then it will be back to socks and bare feet

Slippers? *shudder*
slipper wearers = spontaneous human combustion. Have you not READ the reports? They are ALWAYS wearing slippers. I have an abject fear of SHC - it scares the bejezuz outta me, I do lay awake at night occassionally worrying. Wick method, mitrocondrial explosion, ball lightening
Anyhoo, I have no tartan slippers, no bri nylon nighties, no quilted housecoat. I've seen the programmes, I KNOW what the victims wear. Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Heavy wool socks. Cashmere socks are much softer and warmer but they wear out almost instantly.

The next time, when it is snowing in UK again, try this and after that your feet will feel real hot, guaranteed! :
Borderline non-work-safe image
Markfiend here: I edited that second one from an image to a link. It's borderline, but potentially not safe for work. Sorry.

Let me Google that for you!
EDIT: it seems they're out of print and a bit harder to get nowadays
eBay might be an option then.

I am the proud owner (and occasional wearer) of these
and these
Those last ones used to say "mmmmm beer" when you pressed Homer's head, til the battery ran down and it sounded like he'd had a stroke
