I did come up with a few reasons why the bidder on this particular auction was over bidding after looking at what other gift cards the seller had up for for grabs. But after looking at their high bids, my logic and rationale kicked in and I'll stick with totally bizarre. And agree with the thread title. Someone's gonna be kicking him/herself at the end of the auction(s).

Weird. Just weird. But there's nowt as queer as folk.

I've seen it before, with Marks & Spencer vouchers especially selling for more than their face value on ebay.

It could be a way of getting money out of paypal if you haven't hooked it up to your bank account? Or if you have access to a paypal account you shouldn't?

I sold £50 worth of Mothercare vouchers for £47 last plus £2.50 postage.

I wanted to ask why they paid so much, but didn't want to queer the pitch, I always work to the idea that if it's too good to be true then it probably is. So very curious

I'd be right interested in this. You see, I've been keeping the lead singer of a popular 80s beat combo hostage in my basement, regularly threatening him with physical harm if he doesn't get off his scrawny duff and release a new album. The problem is that the neighbours are beginning to ask difficult questions, so this would ideal for my needs.

Although if you look at some of the pictures linked to that first listing, apparently WWIII will be fought by Sims

Tried that, didn't work so well. He promised me that he would go into the studio and the next thing I knew he was swanning around the world with a couple of geezers with dodgy barnets, being supported by some shifty-looking Iranians. Not being caught that way again, no indeed.
