Earth’s Coolest Concept Albums

Wired.com wrote: We recently celebrated the 37th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon by calling it the greatest concept album ever. A no-brainer, judging by the hundred-plus comments we received from Wired.com readers.
But our readership also had several scintillating sonic choices of its own to add to Pink Floyd’s unanimous classic. Some of them perhaps weren’t, by standard definition, concept albums proper. But who cares? From Jethro Tull to Tool, all of them tickle the lobes. Read ‘em and freak.

Close to the Edge and In the Court of the Crimson King (an observation by King Crimson) to give it its full title, are not concept ellpees

Also, I'd struggle to justify calling any Radiohead ellpee* a concept album.
(* I like the word and will endeavour to spread it.)

if only doing half a day's work and having six songs rely on a fine cover counts as a concept album, then this is one of my faves:

i assure you i get to do a
full day's dossing;
....and often most of the nights too.
in fact, as i can just about survive on the £30 quid a week the state pays me on your behalf we should all be happy- i get to do fu
ck all and be paid for it, the state saves thousands of £££'s over my lifetime on all the sick-days it's not suffering on my account, and you all get someone to hate cuz you ain't got the bottle to pack in your own "killing yourself to live" 9 to 5 miseries....
life is, as they say, too short.
