Hello

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I fuckin love the Sisters. I mean Joy Division was always my favourite band, but holy s**t I think I'm actually enjoying the sisters more these days. I mean I've just about outlived Ian Curtis now. Suicide in your prime is one hell of a rockstar thing to do, but staying a rockstar 'til you die is... I don't know, it's incommensurable but fits my personal philosophy better.

I don't know the comparison is futile. I'm just going to confuse myself. The point is that The Cure sucks.

Well, to each, their own I suppose.

Personally, I do kind of enjoy a band that still makes records from time to time, but then that's me.

Hello & welcome :D
Cheers.

Is this an April fools?
Of course, I don't think Ian Curtis commited suicide to be rock 'n' roll.
I think he killed himself because he was severly troubled. :|

But great first post anyway. :D

Let my clarify. You are correct in that he didn't do it to be a legendary rockstar. He did it because he was a legendary rockstar.

Hope that makes sense.

Should I justify my disdain for the Cure here or start a new thread?

There's a time and a place maybe. But it's all nostalgia and regret. There's no strength and determination. They're no better than the Smiths. I was briefly enchanted after a breakup sometime last year and sat about listening to them and being sad and mopey when really I should have just played some Sisters and gone about my day.

indeed what a load of hogwash!

our boys or at least members of this board, sob at gigs!

so men sob and it's a good good thing! makes them fragile and comforting for a moment.
