Well, actually, this is the
only reason I rock.
Big enough to carry every recorded note the Sisters have ever done in my pocket and then some. I can even use it to store porn!

It's both. It just depends on which cable you use. I don't have USB 2 on any of my Macs or PCs, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
The funny thing is that it's also USB 1.1 capable, meaning it would only take about 6 hours to sync myiPod with USB 1.1

groovy! USB2 cards are pretty cheap if you need one. USB is important for me as I never got the point of Macs, although OSX interests me a bit though, only because you can run Linux programs on it.

The top of the line iPod is not cheap. I paid $475US for mine, and it was worth every penny. It's a really high-quality work of art. You can get refurbished models for MUCH cheaper. Apple was selling 5 gig models for $149US.
On a Mac, you can install your choice of Linux distros, run any Unix app, as well as the X11 Windowing system, compile *nix stuff with Fink, and even run Windows via VirtualPC.
I will not be installing a USB2 card. It's only 80Mbps faster then Firewire 400, much slower than FW800, and is not a powered bus like FW. When using USB 2 on the iPod, it does NOT recharge.
Anyway, if you get a chance, try to actually hold one of the new iPods in your hand. You'll get a feel for how well built they are.
