An evening in mourning

I'm not the typical person who have an easy time talking about private things in public but now I feel the need to write down some thoughts to ease my mind.
About five hours ago I walked in to my mothers apartment to pay her a quick visit only to find her laying dead on the couch.
My mother was 69 years old and pretty spirited for her age.
Just like other lady's in her age she had her ailments but nothing she couldn't handle so this came to a big surprise for us all.
At least the doctor said she seems to have passed away quickly and by the looks of it didn't feel any pain, probably something heart related.
I was always very close to my mother and we spent a lot of time together and we were often more like best friends then had a regular mother-son relationship.
We use to watch sports together, she loved football.
She even had a good taste in music most times and made me download everything from Leonard Cohen to Bob Marley and burn to CD for her.
I will always have all these great memories of her and they will live on forever.
I wish I just could have been given the chance to say goodbye.
So to my beloved mother, Eva. You will be missed like no other, I will love you always.
RIP
