Ben Gunn Interview - ZigZag Magazine

I've been sticking a load of old music magazines up on eBay recently (mostly Morrissey/Smiths related), and while flicking through one called ZigZag from 1984 I found an article on the then Leeds scene, featuring an interview with Ben Gunn just after he'd left the Sisters, where he talks about why he left.

I nearly didn't spot it coz he was using his real name, Benjamin Matthews, but luckily I recognised the pic as I casually flicked through.

It's here if anyone's interested:

Article is a 2 pager, headed rather patronisingly The Land That Time Forgot:

Oh, also I've just spotted there's a small piece on 'now band' Skeletal Family, with an Anne-Marie interview. :D (second column in the pic below)

that's the 404 error page... not sure why you're seeing that

i guess you might need to be logged in to the forum to view the image.

are you browsing the forum as a logged in user? and if so, are you looking at it with or without the www in the address? ie: myheartland.co.uk or www.myheartland.co.uk ?

if all else fail, log out of heartland, close the browser, re-open it and log back in, then try again :?:

A larger version of this image can be found at http://www.myheartland.co.uk/images/ben ... ngunn2.jpg and the whole thing is here: http://www.myheartland.co.uk/images/bengunn/
Those two links (on the image gallery pages) go to 404.

it would appear that images/bengunn folder was removed at some stage (by me), probably during housekeeping. sorry

i'll have to edit that comment and remove the bigger links.

if anyone has copies of the full size versions please forward them on and i'll re-upload them :)

Was the interview something of a stitch up I wonder? Ben doesn't seem to do himself any favours, coming across like a petulant teenager (Then again, I guess he was :) ).

To my knowledge he has never resurfaced since heading to Liverpool. Wonder what he makes of the fact that the band he left over 25 years ago is still an ongoing concern, and if he didn't like AE's policies back then, what would he think of the current set up?

Does he even care?
