They sucked....radiojamaica wrote:How was Suicide? I need to ken
I saw them supporting Grinderman a couple of years ago... They were much better
Thought they got off to a good start but after three or four songs they seemed to lose interest in playing.miprs4 wrote: They sucked....

STOP PRESS!! Iggy is incubating ET!!
You'd think that after all this time he'd be able to afford to buy a shirt - maybe it's time for a whip-'round...

I was there for Monday's show and would say thats pretty accurate. I went for a pint before Vega reached the mental part of Frankie Teardrop, its hard enough to listen to on record.Erudite wrote:Thought they got off to a good start but after three or four songs they seemed to lose interest in playing.miprs4 wrote: They sucked....

Iggy & The Stooges however were stunning. Williamson was like thunder, Iggy was Iggy and Steve Mackay added an extra wash of sound to every song. Gig of the year so far, I don't expect it to be beaten.
I thought he was pretty hot
And to be fair, live on stage he didn't look like that picture to me. I guess it's like those Madonna pictures with all her veins sticking out on her arms.

Agree, they were fierce, and the sound was brilliant! Iggys voice was very good too.Mothra wrote:Iggy & The Stooges however were stunning. Williamson was like thunder, Iggy was Iggy and Steve Mackay added an extra wash of sound to every song. Gig of the year so far, I don't expect it to be beaten.

totally amazing gig!
Thought suicide were excellent - vega just couldn't give a flying monky's and just roared incoherently around dropping the mix when the boredom got too much! And he ambled like ozzy osbourne! The noise of them where we were was just pummelling! Half the seats around us had their ears covered! (just to clarify - it was the people in the seats - not the seats themselves!
The Stooges were far better than I expected - didn't think Williamson would live up to Ron's onslaught but he definately got stuck in there!!! Still miss you though Ron...

I take it you went on Sunday then? My ears are still hurting from Suicide. Seemed they turned the volume down a bit on Monday (or I was still numb then).bangles wrote:totally amazing gig!

Yes the Stooges and Iggy were better than anything I ever expected. Initially I wasn't planning to, but after seeing them, I HAD to go again on monday!
