Lost 85 Sisters demo: 'Frail & Torn'?

gary marx's recording diaries, talking about the writing & recording of the first ghost dance ep, mentions a ghost dance song which started life as sisters demo, with vox by hussey
http://www.ghostdance.co.uk/discography ... p?id=river
Frail And Torn (re-titled as 'Yesterday Again' when GD recorded it...)
Gary wrote: The Sisters minus Eldritch had actually recorded a version of the song which became Yesterday Again in Strawberry. It was originally titled Frail And Torn and Wayne sang my half finished lyric one afternoon along with the first draft of the Mission’s Garden Of Delight. We used to refer to Frail And Torn jokingly as a potential Christmas single for the Sisters.
this implies there is a 'lost' sisters demo (in addition to 'spirits/where spirits fly', and the marx & hussey black planet/falaa/garden of delight mashups that became the 'victims of circumstance' bootleg).
anyone heard of it?
i have to admit that i never picked up on the references when i put together the 'tour diaries' part of the GD site
also:
Gary wrote:The actual recording was done with Steve Allen in Leeds in the freezing cold winter of 85-86. He had originally had a tiny studio in a rehearsal complex off Armley Road where I’d been with Wayne to record some new demos with him singing.
which sounds to me as if the aforementioned 'victims of circumstance' demos came from sessions in steve allen's studio...

Never heard of it either, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were a few other lost demos. Wayne has claimed that Wake for inst dates back to FALAA, so it seems reasonable to assume that there's a demo of that we haven't yet heard either.
I see that we now know Gazza's birthday too. And a damn fine day to have one's birthday on, even if I must say so myself.

I bet he means this place:
clicky. It is still a studio and rehearsal complex.

interesting...
although
http://www.therockandrollcircus.co.uk/pictures.html
"The grand opening of The Rock and Roll Circus on 24th November 2006"
suggests it was something else (derelict?) for a while beforehand...

Oh right, I didn't know it had closed for a while, but it was studio and rehearsal spaces before that. I used to drive past it every day.
And to be fair, all the gubbins on their site could just mean they took it over from previous owners...

Also, it's the only place I know of that's (a) a recording studio and (b) can be described as "off Armley Road".

So where does the title
Lost & Frail come from or is that a typo?

Winter of 85-86? Surely 84-85, considering when Marx left and when the band split.

Gary's talking about the version released by Ghost Dance, not the earlier Demo with Mr Huss

ooh I do love tiny morsels from the "golden years" of the Sisters.
It still makes my chuckle how shrouded in mystery the whole thing was, adding to the appeal...guess someone will need to add that to the route of the Heartland open top bus goth tour of Leeds?

Man, you should see the countless emo kids walking to it on a Saturday, with their hair swept over one side and angst written all over their spotty faces

In 1983 someone probably wrote:Man, you should see the countless goth kids walking to it on a Saturday, with their hair swept over one side, their sunglasses on and angst written all over their spotty faces

Thats a great little find QB
Quite a few little nuggets if you read all the diaries (which I'd not done until now). Tales of Eldritch walking into walls after doing his takes and the like. I only wish that Mark/Gary would tell us the whole tale from the lead up of the Albert Hall ... sounds like it was heavy stuff.

That's the same place as the Rock-n-Roll Circus I linked above.

I know, I just wondered why it isn't mentioned on the R'n'R Circus website.
